RMarkdown is a language designed for transform to html

• LaTeX for equations
• Simple markup language for the rest of the document.
• Authors are confined to a transformable subset with a quick compile loop and a supportive GUI.
• The output has known accessibility features.
• The typesetting is still extensible, just more reasonably so.
